Bulb MH 250W E-start

HORTILUX e-Start Metal Halide is a new family of lamps designed for use on electronic/digital ballasts. The starting and operating characteristics of electronic/digital ballasts are different than traditional magnetic core & coil ballasts. These differences allow us to optimize lamp performance over life to improve results in your indoor garden.

• Vegetative spectrum for beginning stages of plant growth
• Extends Peak Spectral Output which means the quality of the spectrum is maintained over a longer lamp life
• Extends time between lamp replacement which saves money
• Designed for electronic/digital ballasts
• Can also operate on pulse start magnetic core & coil ballasts
• 100% lead free

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

• Must be used in an enclosed fixture only
• 1000W e-Start lamps operating on a switchable core & coil ballast must be run on the HPS setting

Q: What is the importance of color temperature ratings (Kelvin) on bulbs? i.e(3K, 6.4K, etc.)
A: Kelvin is a unit of measure that rates color temperature of a light source. Lower Kelvin temperatures will display deeper hues of red and orange light. Higher Kelvin temperatures emit deeper concentrations of blue light. The difference of each stimulates growth in plants depending on the phase of production. Ex. use lower K for fruiting/blooming/flowering and higher K for leaf/chlorophyll production.
Q: How often should I replace my grow bulbs?
A: Whether fluorescent, sodium, or halide, we recommend to replace light system bulbs every 1 to 1.5 years if ran for a minimum of 12 hours per day. Although they may still ignite for multiple years, quality of light to the plants has degraded after this time of continuous use.
Q: My new bulb isn't lighting up, or only lights up sometimes. How can I fix this problem?
A: The problem might be a bad connection in the mogul socket. Make sure to disconnect the unit from the power supply, and then look inside the mogul socket for a metal tab. Pry this tab upwards a little bit to make better contact with the bulb base.
